2021 Jeep Cherokee vs Honda CR-V

If it seems like SUVs are everywhere these days, it's because they are! The SUV is the most popular vehicle in America and because of this, there are several different makes and models to choose from. No worries, we here at Grogan's Towne Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram are here to help! Two of the best SUVs on the market are the Jeep Cherokee and the Honda CR-V. Both of these SUVs come with powerful engines and an abundance of features, but which one truly stands out? To find out we have pitted these two vehicles against one other! Continue reading to see which one comes out on top!

2021 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

There are three engines available for the Jeep Cherokee and each one provides you with amazing power and torque. Standard on the first few trims is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that makes 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque and pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission. When you get to the Latitude Lux you'll be treated to two more stark engine choices. The first is a 3.2-liter V6 that pumps out 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque and the second is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines also pair with the nine-speed automatic. All Cherokee's come standard with front-wheel-drive, with the option of four-wheel-drive if you choose.

2021 Honda CR-V Power & Handling

Only one engine is available for the 2021 Honda CR-V and it's a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that kicks out 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque while connecting to a continuously variable automatic transmission. The CR-V comes standard with front-wheel-drive, but the SUV does give you the option of all-wheel-drive if you prefer to go that route. While we wouldn't quite call this vehicle underpowered, it certainly pales in comparison to all the options that the Cherokee offers.

2021 Jeep Cherokee Features & Design

With five amazing trim levels, it's easy to fall in love with everything that the Cherokee offers. The first trim level is the Latitude which comes with power front windows, exterior mirrors with a heating element, supplemental turn signals, courtesy lamps, a rearview camera, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Up next is the Latitude Plus which ups things a bit with heated front seats, premium-wrapped heated steering wheel, remote start, keyless entry, and push-button start. If you want to spice up your Cherokee with more luxury features go with the Latitude Lux trim as it has Nappa leather seats, power front seats with power lumbar adjuster, and a windshield wiper de-icer. If you're looking to go deep into the woods, the Trailhawk has got you covered with an advanced all-wheel-drive system, wider wheels and all-terrain tires, and increased ground clearance. The highest trim is the Limited which rounds out the features list with leather upholstery, an upgraded driver display in the gauge cluster, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.

2021 Honda CR-V Features & Design

There are four trims available for the CR-V and there are some interesting features to be found on each. The base trim is the LX which comes with automatic climate control, manually adjustable front seats, and a four-speaker audio system. The EX adds to this with tinted rear windows, a sunroof, keyless entry, push-button start, cargo cover, heated front seats, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The top trims are the EX-L and the Touring which provide the most luxury and tech items such as a power liftgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, LED headlights, roof rails, an integrated navigation system, a wireless phone charger, and a nine-speaker audio system.

Conclusion:

While there are merits to both SUVs, we are going to give a decisive victory to the 2021 Jeep Cherokee. The Cherokee has several powerful engine options and has features that the Honda CR-V doesn't have. We highly recommend taking a test drive of the 2021 Cherokee by heading down to Grogan's Towne Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and scheduling one with our knowledgeable and friendly representatives.
