If you're looking for a day trip, this one is for you! Ohio and Lake Erie Canalway became recognized as a National Heritage Area by Congress in 1996 to help celebrate and preserve the trails, rails, landscapes, and more that began along the first 110 miles of the canal that helped expand the country. Along the route, you'll encounter fascinating towns with museums, local restaurants, and more as you go along. The whole route is about 87 miles. Some popular attractions along the route include the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and more!

Covered Bridge Scenic Byway

With over 2000 covered bridges, Ohio had more than any other state at one point in time! Along this route, you'll come across four of these covered bridges on this route. This particular scenic byway passes through some of the most beautiful countryside scenery Ohio has to offer. Many visitors choose to stop along the route to take in the area's natural beauty, camp, and more!

Dalzell Road

Last but certainly not least, Dalzell Road is just a 32-mile drive from Whipple to Woodsfield. This winding road passes through beautiful countryside and charming small towns. For a relaxing break, you can stop in any of the small towns and grab a bite at a local restaurant. Some highlights along the route are the towns of Stafford, Harrietsville, and Lower Salem.
